Identify this salamander?

Found in a wet basement in upstate NY in April. Looking for an ID for a friend.

Looks like a Skink but wait for other ID's

I think it's a lead-backed phase of a Red-backed Salamander? A salamander at any rate. They're common here, not sure about New York.

Looks like maybe an Allegheny Dusky Salamander.

Ooh, I like lead Red-backed Salamander even better.

Thanks! I thought red-backed was the most likely but I didn't read far enough to see about the 'leadback' variation. Thanks again.

Okay back again with another skink, I think (ha!). This was seen in Orange County, NY last week and it doesn't seem to look like the pics of any of the skinks listed for NY. Thanks for your help.

Unless I'm mistaken, that's a male Five-lined Skink.

Ah, well that makes sense. I didn't even see the lines! I was too distracted by the silver and copper. So pretty!
