Hephzibah, GA this AM. I'm not seeing enough black on the flanks for Black-throated Blue, and the blue is a bit light. Cerulean would be a new one, though, and I had seen a Black-throated Blue nearby a few minutes before. Also, I don't see any streaking on the flanks.
I have another pic if you would like me to share it, but you can only see the undertail.

TIA,
Liam ;)

Is the yellow on the chest a leaf? From this shot, I can easily make this a Northern Parula, because of what appears to be unstreaked flanks, yellow breast, and white around the eye, but all of those could just be me misinterpreting the photo. The undertail shot might be nice.

I wondered the same thing. I think the yellow is a leaf, but I can't tell for sure. If it is, I could be convinced that this is a cerulean.

It's a leaf, I'm pretty sure. Here's that second pic.

I looked at the photo before seeing any of the responses, and said to myself "hey that's a Northern Parula". The thing is their wings are very similar to Cerulean - actually, the whole bottom half. But I'm seeing yellow in the chest consistent with Northern Parula

EDIT: The second photo is obscured by leaves to the area of the bird in question. Any more shots of the upper half?

Bright yellow feet that are visible in the second photo also point to Northern Parula, I'm afraid. I don't think we'd be seeing those on a Black-throated Blue or a Cerulean. :/

Only two photos I have. Northern Parula would make sense, since this bird was about the size of a Ruby-crowned Kinglet.
Thanks guys!

Agree with Northern Parula here... Liam wish a little bit harder and maybe that Cerulean will show up! :D

I'll keep looking. Two lifers in one day must be too much to ask for. ;)

Good call on the yellow feet.
