All taken in Coastal NJ today. Thanks in advance

1. Cattle Egret?


2. Not good with Pipers and such

3. Gadwall or Black Duck maybe?

5. No clue - some type of Plover?

7. Little guy seen with #6 - much smaller.

8. Not sure - seemed very Warbler-ish but couldn't get a great shot.

13. Really not sure - it was acting pretty strange bobbing back and forth dipping beak into water. My initial thought was it was a bigger type of plover, though I'm likely to be wrong.

My first thought on the last was also a phalarope. . . but after looking some more I agree with Bonaparte's Gull.

After reading into the Bonaparte's Gull feeding behavior, it pretty much matches up with how this bird was acting. Thanks for everyones help! A few lifers for one day is always a good thing.

See... the NJ Shore isn't so bad is it? Where exactly were these taken? I know the Cattle egrets have been reported in both Forsythe NWR and also Cape May during the past week.

See... the NJ Shore isn't so bad is it? Where exactly were these taken? I know the Cattle egrets have been reported in both Forsythe NWR and also Cape May during the past week.

Not bad at all! Had 10 lifers yesterday and a few already today. I owe you some pointers, so let me know if you're ever in Mass or NH! The Cattle Egret was in the entrance area of Forsythe...which was awesome, thanks again for suggesting it.

A majority of these were taken in Forsythe with the exception of the Oystercatcher, Bonaparte's, Piping Plover and LBBG.
