Almost has coloration like a wren on the sides, but the tail is wrong, and the bill isn't curved, and frankly, I just don't know. I wasn't able to get a really good shot of him.

Taken today, in Hayes, Virginia, along the York River.

This might be the same bird, or another one.

House Wren!! We have a male in our yard that has made nests in both of our nesting boxes, and this morning we saw a female inspecting them. All of today, he was standing on the fence next to the boxes singing his heart out and chasing away any bird that came near. Hope we get chicks!! :)

Cool, I guess I'm so used to Carolina Wrens, the straight bill and tail not held up was really throwing me off.

It's unusual to see a wren in this position to me but the coloring appears to be House Wren.
Thank you for your time !

Actually, House Wrens don't hold the same posture other wrens do. They're more relaxed.
