I spotted this today in Redwood NP on the Coastal Trail. Not being from this part of the country, I have no idea what this is. I am thinking CA Condor. What do you think? Notice the tag on the wing. I checked sighting info online and didn't see any sightings this far north, does it make sense this bird would be this far? Sorry for the bad quality photo, but it was drizzling/raining at the time.

EDIT: Sorry, this is Turkey- --zoomed in and lightened photo. I found Calif.Condor#26 and the tag is not even the same. Like Billy Pilgrim said, the white on the wing coverts is essential. Although I don't see why they couldn't land in a tree?

This is a Turkey Vulture..head is much too small for a Condor.

I don't think you'd see a Condor in a tree either, they are massive. Not sure why it is numbered.

Also, Condor's have extensive white under their wings and clear white wing bars when they are folded.

Thank you! My friends and I have been debating between the condor and the turkey vulture. They look so similar.
