This was taken a couple of weeks ago on the Texas gulf coast. The bird appeared to be brighter red than other dowitchers in the area. Too bad it took off before I could get a frontal shot. Perhaps it is just a dowitcher that was in bright light? Thanks.

It's a Dowitcher sp. Possibly further along in his transition to breeding plumage than the other ones around it. If I had to guess, I'd go with Long-Billed based on the extensive orange on the belly.
