I believe this is an Evening Grospeak, but would appreciate any confirmation or input.
Thank you.

Wonderful picture of a bird that Audubon says: "Since 1967, in just 40 years, the population of the Evening Grosbeak has declined 78%, from 17 million to 3.8 million."

Thank you for your confirmation. I have some images of what I believe is the female Evening Grospeak and I'll post it another day. (I've been wrong on my guesses before!)

Bird photography is relatively new for me and now in retirement it is a wonderful combination, my lifelong passion of photography while slowly pursuing, observing and listening for various birds.

I would like to share some of my photo 'tips' at this forum and I would hope there would be some interest. My 'system' is not esoteric (nor atmospheric in cost!). It looks like the 'Bird Photography' forum may be the place to place any tips I may have?

Shared tips are always welcome, and I know, I can use all the tips I can get. The Bird Photography forum is a great place to share them.
After two and a half years of inactivity, I have finally started adding some new photos to my Picasa Web Album.

How beautiful to see. I remember every winter my Mom calling us to the window in Massachusetts to see the Evening Grosbeaks in the yard, then they stopped coming. I have not seen one in over 40 years.

I don't want to be mistaken for the grammar/spelling police, but I know if I say things incorrectly I honestly appreciate someone informing me. You seem to be consistently writing "Grospeak", but these birds and all their relatives are called Grosbeaks -- gros as in large, beak as in...beak.

Oh my!
I really appreciate you 'policing' my spelling, yep.
Maybe I'll find another to post to atone for my errors :)

thanks again
