I was on Sanibel Island, FL last weekend and took pictures of numerous shorebirds, which fall outside my area of expertise. All pictures are dated April 27 or 28, 2012 and the images link to higher-res versions. Any and all responses are appreciated.

1. Western sandpiper?

2. Semipalmated sandpiper?

3. Sanderling?

5. Western/semipalmated?

6. Not a sandpiper: black-crowned or yellow-crowned night-heron? (spotted in "Ding" Darling NP on Sanibel Island)

Not sure on 1 & 3, 2 is a plover of some kind, 4 is a dowitcher, 5 is a Black-bellied Plover, & 6 is a Yellow-crowned Night-heron (immature).

Think 1 is a sanderling & 3 is a semi-palmated sandpiper (not positive on these two though).

Agree, except I think both 1 and 3 are Sanderlings (no hind toe).
