I saw a Warbler today that I want to try to ID (no pic).

It had a completely yellow breast, belly and neck with dark wings. That's all I have for an ID. That eliminates most species though so I'm thinking either female Yellow or female Wilson's. It wasn't a female Yellowthroat. Are there any other species I'm leaving out?

Thanks!

When I hear "a warbler with a yellow throat, belly, and butt" I think of a Nashville Warbler.

I'd guess yellow Warbler (juvy or female), wings can look kinda dark.

To complicate your search here's two more to consider:
Female hooded warbler
Prothonotary warbler

Where did you see it?

I saw this in Newport RI.

I will never know for certain what this thing was but it very well could have been a Nashville as I saw several earlier in the area. Hooded maybe, Prothonatory no as this wasn't that awesome shade of yellow associated with them.

Thanks for the help but I'll have to let this one go. If it only held still for a few more seconds. :)

What kind of habitat was it in? How high in trees? And did it have any facial patterns? What about streaks on the belly? Another option is Blue-winged Warbler. Not sure on range though.
