I live in San Juan Capistrano in So California - about 3 miles from the beach. I have seen lots of weird birds so far this year including an unusually large amount of Cliff, Barn and Rough-winged Swallows. But I have hardly seen any of my usual backyard birds! I haven't had a single hummingbird at any of my feeders (had dozens last year) no finches, no sparrows, no Juncos (but lots of Phoebes). Has anyone else noticed anything similar???

Juncos should be gone now. They migrate up north in the summer. What kinds of sparrows do you see normally? Some migrate up north too.

Non-natives - Europea Sparrows. They usually nest right outside our window (or at least they have the past 8 years). It's the hummers that I miss the most. =(
