I am wanting to see some male red breasted grosbeaks at my feeders.... am lucky to see the females, but want some color to look at! I have at least 4 females that come, and feed. Where are the males at?? Please help me understand this ....

Birds often migrate separately. The males often go first to find a territory, then the females come later. Not sure if this is the case with rose-breasted grosbeaks, but it's not unusual.

funny, I have males but seldom female red breasteds at mine, maybe they just havent hooked up yet
this is the first year I ever saw them out of my yard though.. had 3 males in a tree eating off the leaves when out warbler hunting
