This guy has been showing up since the last week in April at my feeder in SE TN. At first 4 days in a row then not for 3 days and then again today. I have been at this location for 5 years and never seen one before at my feeder. Do you have them at your feeder often? For how long per season?

I would love to have one of these show up! So far, just the usual Tufted Titmice, Chickadees, Goldfinches, Cardinals, and Housefinches. And a couple of mockingbirds trying to run everybody else off.
What I have learned so far.... just because you think that bird is just another _____ (house sparrow, chickadee, crow or whatever you are used to seeing) look a little closer... you just might be surprised!

I don't get them at the feeder, but in this area they arrive in April and leave in late September.

Yep, those are usual suspects that I get.. The blue grosbeak hung around until 5/14 and I haven't seen him since. Since I never saw a female, I am guessing he was just passing through.

Better to be passing thru than not at all! What is in your feeder?

Mostly black-oil sunflower seeds but the the blue grosbeak seemed to pick out the white millet when it was available.
