I'm in Maryland, took these photos at a pond right next to an office building. I'm not sure it's three different types of ducks, or one type and it's two mates and offspring.
The whole group seemed to stay relatively together I only saw the two of the colored variety, but there were some other white ones wander around away from the group.

A better side photo of some of them

I created a Picasa album just for these ducks too with a few more photos of them: https://picasaweb.go...feat=directlink

Welcome to Whatbird! These are all different types of Domestic Mallard (they have many breeds, just like dogs and cats). Liam will be along sometime and likely able to comment on specific breeds :)

I have a collection of pictures of different mallards from mostly black to mostly white, with beautiful coloring. I have also seen geese mixes like this that are hybrids. I would love to add your pic to my collection. LOL

You are more than welcome to use any of these photos. My daughter is working on a bird book/scrap book type thing. We are taking photos then researching facts about the birds we see then adding it all into the book.

Great variety and colors here!

I'm seeing mostly random mutts, but breeds I see: Buff/Harlequin x Pekin (top photo, leftmost bird and bottommost bird), Welsh Harlequins (top photo, middle bird in the top row is the drake and the hen is below him), Swedish x Pekin (top photo, rightmost bird).

Thank you for your help. Now that we know what kind of breeds went into making them we might be able to get some info on them.
