I saw these two near Lake Tahoe. I thought the first one looked like a Common Loon but it doesn't have the same coloring on the neck.
The second one I am thinking it is a Common Merganser.

You've got a pair of Common Mergansers (male and female). Nice shots!

Another new bird! I live in Central Florida and I've seen some hooded mergansers but never the common.
