I have seen this bird before but wasn't able to get a clear picture. It perches high in a tree and makes a dull one note sound, that sounds to me like plucking a guitar string that is not tightened up.
Thanks
Is this a Grackle?

What I have learned so far.... just because you think that bird is just another _____ (house sparrow, chickadee, crow or whatever you are used to seeing) look a little closer... you just might be surprised!

I was wondering that next, if it was common or boat tailed, how do you tell the difference? Thanks for the fast response!

Boat-tailed would have a MUCH larger tail. . .

Thanks JimBob! Now I know where that annoying one note call is coming from.

I read that they are usually in flocks, I have only seen one, usually every morning perched in the same tree making that annoying one note sound. Also the sound for common grackle on whatbird didn't sound like the sound mine makes. So I wasn't entirely sure that is what he was. Maybe he is looking for a mate and she will find that one note sound exactly what she is looking for haha!
