Finch?

I saw this bird yesterday in Vermont. Didn't get a good view or picture--but is this a house finch? It had a kind of yellowish orange tinge to it sometimes.

Pretty sure it's a male house finch. Red head and breast with brown streaks on the flank

Agreed. House Finches get their red from their diet, so if it is higher or lower in certain minerals, it changes their red to orange or even yellow.
