I am totally stumped and find this more than a little bit weird. I tried to download the contest photo by right clicking on it after expanding the thumbnail. These are the options that right clicking popped up.

These are also the options available when I tried right clicking one of many other times.

I can't figure out what I was doing differently to get the two different options, I opened the image with a left click both times, and right clicked on the enlarged image both times. So, I started experimenting with other photos and started right clicking on them, most offered one or the other of the above options but some also offered the standard options that I am use to seeing where you can save the image, as in the example below.

Now here's the weird part, some of my very own photos allow me to save them, and others offer one of the other options where saving is not possible. Even though they were all uploaded the same way, and in one case they were all uploaded in the.same post, they offer different options when right clicking on them. The weirdness doesn't stop there, I went back to the contest photo and kept trying to get the third set of options to appear so I could save the photo and somehow it worked. I did the exact same thing as earlier, I enlarged the thumbnail by left clicking on it and then right clicked on the larger image. All of a sudden I had the third set of options and saved the image successfully. I have been unable to duplicate the process though and can't for the life of me figure out how or why I get the different options from the same process, sometimes getting all three options when right clicking on the same image over and over again. Perseverance ended up getting the contest photo downloaded but there is definitely something weird going on, wouldn't you agree?
After two and a half years of inactivity, I have finally started adding some new photos to my Picasa Web Album.

lonestranger, when you click the thumbnail enlarges, look for where it says "Save" above where it says "close". You have to click that, and it will open a version that you then right click and save.

Thank you for pointing out the obvious solution, meghann. I feel silly for wasting all that time trying to figure out what I was doing wrong. I still find it curious that the right click options would be different from one click to another.

Heh, it took me a while to figure it out a while back when I first wanted to save something on here, so you're in good company.

It is good to have this forum where problems about the contest can be reported. Photo submissions should be posted in the Contest forum because that forum will hide all submissions from other members. To submit an edited photo you must start a topic and attach your edited photo. I think this will be a fun contest and will be educational. The Fame and Notoriety will be something the management and the forum will have to work on, but the prizes are real.

After the winners are selected all edited submissions will be available for member viewing. I may need to make a new forum for this but we shall see.

Thanks for the interest in the new Contest.

Bigfoot

Edit... the download link reduces the pixels too far, if you want to compete in the contest contact me at Bigfoot.miller@gmail.com and i'll send the photo.

Does the photo have to be "attached" as in uploaded through whatbird, or can third party sites be used to upload the edited photo? In other words, does it need to be through whatbird in order to get hidden from other members or can I use imgur like I have been doing? I am just curious if I am going to run into the storage space problem if I enter the contest.

Lone Stranger,

You can just send me the edited photo that will 'Cost' nothing on your account. I will then place the photo in the proper place for all to review, on the 25th after winners are picked. I presume that you did receive the full pixel photo. Size 2400 x1792?

Thanks Bigfoot, since it wont "cost" anything, I will share the fame and notoriety with you if I win.(remembers reading something to the effect that bribes are always welcome) ;) I downloaded a 1200x896 version of the contest photo so an email request for the larger version is on it's way.

Um, it appears I DID have the larger photo, I just hadn't checked my email to know it at the time. Disregard the request I sent, Bigfoot. The bribe still stands though. ;)

Bribes are always welcome... Big Simians have Big Families and they EAT, and it is SOOOOOO hard to gather all that food and still stay out of sight, with only a few foot prints left as evidence. They almost got me the other day, as I was attempting to gather material to make the batteries that keep my computers running. Ahhhh such is life.

This is interesting. I won't enter this contest, since I don't even own any proper photo editing software (lately I've been using Picasa to do some basic lighting adjustments to my photos -- I won't even get into what I did before that). It will be very interesting to see the results since most of my photos look like the original here. Is it possible, since this is a photo editing contest, for people to include the name of the program that they used?
