Lone black bird w/slight green sheen showed up at my feeder yesterday (6/6). Feeding on ground only.
Coloring is similar to brown-headed cowbird but face and beak do not match
Location is just south of Dripping Springs, TX.

It is a Brown-headed Cowbird, but the poor thing has mycoplasmal conjunctivitis. :(

I had a closer look at the bird today and agree it is brown-headed cowbird. Given that it is diseased, should I remove it before it affects any other birds visiting my feeder (which is very active at this point in time)?

I am curious about how are you going to remove it? Are you going to remove the feeder or the bird? And how does one go about removing a diseased bird?
What I have learned so far.... just because you think that bird is just another _____ (house sparrow, chickadee, crow or whatever you are used to seeing) look a little closer... you just might be surprised!
