Young wood ducks

About how old would you say these wood ducks are? I've noticed them the past few days in our pond (Central Florida). I've also seen 8 brand new wood ducks swimming with their mom. I was just wondering if these ducks were hatched earlier this season...

I would guess these are adults, with the males starting their late summer eclipse molt.

It is a cooter...we have bunches of them in the pond and some of them get pretty large. Here is a better pic of the turtle where you can see the coloration of the neck.
