Hello all

I can't help but notice the black mark on this birds right leg - is this a banded bird? Or is this a mark of a BC Night Heron?

If it is banded I'd like to report it if possible.

I would say that that's some mud or vegetation stuck on the leg. It doesn't look even enough for a band. I think it would be hard to report much if you can't see at least some numbers on a band.

Yeah you're likely right - I just found the mark odd, and this was the first time seeing one of these birds so I didn't know for sure.
