Im pretty confident this is a purple finch, the brown on the the side of the face isnt as prominet as the house finch photos, but Im more wrong then right so any input would be greatly welcomed. Thank you for any help. It was seen in southern CT. http://flic.kr/p/bX515D

It's got a lot of brown streaking below and a distinctly down-curved upper mandible, which implies House Finch.

Yep, its a House Finch. A Purple wouldn't show so much streaking on the belly and flanks.

Yep, its a House Finch. A Purple wouldn't show so much streaking on the belly and flanks.
