This bird lives in the pond behind my home in Florida. I have never seen it dive, it does swim alot and will float in the same place for a while. Orange beak with no notch and orange webbed feet, larger than the other ducks in the pond. Does not have a mate or any other birds of its kind, always alone although there are alot of other birds that are frequently here.

Looks like some sort of domestic breed -- Liam will figure it out for you!

Welcome to Whatbird! This isn't a muscovy, it would have fleshy wattles around the base of the bill. Its a domestic Mallard of some sort, which Liam will probably comment on soon :)
Life List: 560

Latest birds: Purple Sandpiper, Ross's Goose, White-winged Crossbill,

2013: 362 species

I kind of remember only the males had the wattles. They do taste good though.

Just a mutt, could have any amount of breeds in it, but yes, a domestic Mallard.

Thank you all. No wonder I could not find it anywhere. I really enjoy watching this bird just float and quickly swim from one shore to another. Thank you.
