Bunting or grosbeak?

Poor photo. My first thought was indigo bunting but after cropping the photo the glimpse of rust on the wing makes me think blue grosbeak

also, a few minutes later this guy showed up. Common snapping turtle but can anyone give an educated guess as to his age? from nose to tip of tail he was between 24 to 30 inches. The pond level is dropping and he was moving on. The big turtles were still in the pond.

My first thought seeing the photo was grosbeak but it is tough call at that angel.

I think that is a blue Grosbeak because of the rusty coloring on thing wing.

I'll stay away from the turtle question, but I agree with Blue Grosbeak.
