Help identify big bird.

This bird was on the roof of the garage in Fargo ND towards the end of May. What the heck is it?

You have a young Black-crowned Night-Heron.

All Yellow Warblers are yellow warblers, but not all yellow warblers are Yellow Warblers

I haven't the slightest idea why, but these herons get a kick out of sitting on roofs and staring at people.
