Needing some Seagull and Heron help. I know we have a lot of Western Gulls and various others, but I have a hard time even with comparison pictures figuring them out.

Not sure about the first two but 3 is an adult Heerman's (my favorite gull BTW, they're sooo easy to ID) and 4 is indeed a young BCNH.

#2 is indeed a Western Gull, probably 3rd summer (I'm not that familiar with Westerns). Given the size of the bill on the first one, I would guess that it is a Western as well, in 1st summer plumage.

1. I think first summer Western but I don't see a pale base to the bill and the white eye-ring looks out of place.
2. Third summer Western (dark gray mantle, bill size and coloring, and leg color)
3. Adult Heermann's (white head and dark mantle, bill shape and color)
4. Juvenile Black-crowned Night-Heron (white 'teardrops' on covert tips).
