Hello all,

A relative sent me these photos of a Thrasher that's nesting in their tree at the moment in Prescott, Arizona. I have an opinion, but it's only on the basis of browsing through my field guide yesterday, so I'll wait to say what I think it is. Sorry about the quality of the photos!

Thanks in advance!

I agree with Shoveler on the ID.

Thanks for responding, guys. What field marks are you going by? I've not got any experience with these two species, so I'm curious.

It looks to me like there's a distinct curve in the lower mandible -- Bendire's have a shorter, straighter bill with a nearly straight lower mandible.

I was using the bill length as the primary differentiator.
