My wife and I had a great experience this afternoon. We attended a concert of baroque music in someones living room! The music of Handel, Bach, Vivaldi, Corelli, Telemann and de Visee was presented by the Baroque Orchestra of Maine. The members are musicians who play with other national and international orchestras who happen to live in Maine. The music was brilliant BUT what made it was the setting. Behind the musicians was several very large picture windows. Outside it was rainy and breezy causing the wild flowers and tree's to dance. There were also 5-6 bird feeders with a group of about 10 male/female Goldfinches and maybe 4 Juncos fluttering about ~

A lot of baroque music is for dance. In modern times we have learned to sit still while enjoying music made to move to. It was beautiful watching nature dance in our stead....

At my undergraduate school every Spring the Music Department would put on an outdoor concert of Baroque music complete with Harpsichord.
