Ive posted this bird once before and got a "probably" but before I put it as for sure a willow flycatcher I would appreciate a little more confident answer beside myself! taken in CT early this month. Thanks in advance for any help!

Dancingbear it is a tough call. It looks like it could be a Willow or Adler Flycatcher. The Alder I think is more common. And the wing bars look right for the Alder. There are others on the site that don't come on until later that may give you more than I can. Check your post this evening. And get it back to the top if no one has given you an answer. Sorry I'm not more help.

Those are the two I was debating with and before I lablel it in my photo journal at home I wanted to make sure!! thanks for the help!! Glad to see it wasnt invisible!! :)

Clip's right -- it looks like either Willow or Alder. Unfortunately, they're indistinguishable visually. (Often even in the hand!) I'd suggest finding the songs and call notes on line, because they're quite distinguishable by voice.
