1. Some kind of juvenile sparrow? (knowing my luck it's probably a house finch). For some reason our neighborhood Spotted Towhee took offense to this little fella and chased him all over the yard. I had a heck of a time getting a capture.

2. Woodpecker. I'm not even going to try and guess which one.

3. Female Black-headed Grosbeak?

Finally. The House Finch conspiracy. I swear they are stalking me. I have proof. They started gathering together in the trees and were watching me. :P

One more thing. I was watching some Cedar Waxwings when I noticed them doing something that amazed me. They sat next to each other and kept passing a mulberry between them. I'm assuming this is courtship behavior. :)

I believe the woodpecker is a downy.

I've also seen waxwings sharing berries. Very cute to watch.

You're close on #1, it's a House Sparrow, agree with Meghann on #2, #3 is indeed a Black-headed Grosbeak.

Have you ever looked out your window late at night and seen a House Finch sitting in a car across the street?

Not looking out the window isn't going to protect you from La Llorona; she'll just cry "¡mis hijos! ¡mis hijos!" and scare the beejeezus out of you when you least expect it!
