Today, noticed several "small" birds flitting around in big circles... finally noticed they were dive-bombing another bird sitting on top of a gas station at a busy city street intersection in South East Florida. As I crossed the street to get a better look, the hawk flew to another location I could not see. The "small" birds continued to flit around, as I moved closer to get a better look at them, I saw the hawk again.. unfortunately, only had my sony point and shoot digital camera with me, so the photo is not that great, but hopefully good enough for a positive ID.

Hawk:
My guess... a Coopers hawk?

The "small" birds that were dive bombing the hawk.
Before seeing the photos, I thought these were some sort of swallows, but after seeing the photos, they look like northern mockingbirds... Can you tell what they are from this photo?

I agree with Cooper's Hawk for the first one. On the second it may just be the angle but it looks to me like a Thick-billed Kingbird.

Finally get Mountain Quail and Vesper Sparrow

Isn't the thick-billed kingbird a bird of the extreme southwest US?

Thick-billed wouldn't be in Florida -- but Gray Kingbird might. On this guy, the black mask appears to extend behind the eye, and I can't see any white markings on the wings, which suggest Kingbird.

Yep, a Gray Kingbird. They're regular throughout Coastal Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina now.

Yeah, I meant Gray. I was looking at the wrong page as I was typing.

WOW!!!
Thank you all so much.
I somehow felt that the "small" ones flitting about were not mockingbirds... but could not get a close enough look, even with binocs to ID them...
And the behavior was amazing... they were really going after the hawk... with determination.
I only wish I had a better vantage point to observe them longer, or had the camera with the 500mm lens.
Thanks again for your help with these IDs - Very much appreciated!!
