Trying to ID warblers but they are way up in the trees so we are looking from underneath. These are all North-Central Massachusetts July. Picture 1, Pine Warbler? Posted Image, pictures 2 and 3, yellow rumped Myrtle? Posted Image Posted Image, and 4, Black-throated Green? Tail shape doesn't match any of my references. Posted Image. I know these aren't great, but people on this forum amaze me sometimes, so here's hoping.

I would call 3 a Black-and-white Warbler. Agree with the rest.

ABA list: 295 Latest: Swamp Sparrow
2013: 220

Yard List: 85 Latest: Violet-green Swallow, Tricolored Blackbird

I may live in San Diego County, buy my home and heart will always be in Missouri.

3 is the same bird as 2, just a different angle. On my computer I can make it bigger, and there is yellow visible. No problem with the tail shaped like a boat oar on #4? I have consistantly heard BTG Warblers and got a better sight of one but no camera at the time and we did hear one near when we shot this picture. How do people get side views of these birds? Must be during migration in areas where the trees aren't so tall!

Yeah, I can see the yellow crown on the butterbutt in pic 3.
The tail is a tad odd on bird 4, but the plumage matches BTNW perfectly.

The banding codes for Black-throated Green Warbler and Black-throated Gray Warbler conflicted, so the ABA made the code BTNW for Black-throated Green and BTYW for Black-throated Gray.
