I've tried to compare with other pictures I have and can't quite seem to make a match with any of them. Maybe sun is playing a trick on colors? Any help would be appreciated. Picture taken near LA/MS state line near gulf coast.

Neither, actually. You've got a juvenile Red-Winged Blackbird.

I did look at pictures of the RWBB but the beak looked longer and narrower. Anyway, thanks for the ID
