I think this is a kingbird. He was strutting his stuff yesterday till I interrupted him. I hope he comes back!

I agree. Towards evening, look for them on wires, where they often "hawk" for insects. They'll perch on the wires and randomly shoot out and catch a bug in mid-flight.
