This bird landed on my pig weather vane attached to our deck rail. Its baby landed next to it on one of our tiki torches. They landed, sat there for awhile, then flew away and back again. I got about 5 pics each but all of the baby were blurry :( Is this a female Indigo Bunting?? and Thanks!

That's a fairly young Eastern Bluebird. Besides being brown, a female Indigo Bunting would have a more conical bill, designed for eating seeds instead of insects like this bird's bill.

Agree with Liam. Remember that location helps with the ID

Female indigo buntings are mostly brown. What state are you in?

oh yeah, sorry! I'm in East TN about 30 mins away from the Smoky Mtns. It had a baby with it that was white with small stripes on it's breast. That's about all I saw before it flew away. I did get pictures of it but all of them turned out blurry so no use at all. And, yeah, sorry... I looked up a female Indigo Bunting after posting this and they look nothing alike. But, thanks for all the answers!

The reason I know it was a baby with it is b/c at first, they were both on the weather vane and the baby was wiggling its wings and chirping for the Mom to feed it. The next 2 times they flew to the deck, the Mother landed on the weather vane and the baby on one of my tiki torches.

Did the baby look like this? This is a shot of a baby Eastern bluebird I took earlier this year.

Sort of. Not much blue on it but, all I really saw of it was its breast. I did look up young Eastern Bluebirds and they did look like the one I saw.
