Mexican Robin??

I may have posted this before but maybe this is just a Rufous-backed Robin. Mexico very far south west coast.
Would have to look up the date.

Going by Nat Geo and Stokes it looks like it to me.

Yep, this is "just" a Rufous-backed Robin. :)
Would of loved to pick up one or two of these during my past Rio Grande Valley trips. No luck so far.

I've checked all my guides and it seems a perfect fit for Rufous-backed. They point to the rufous back and gray head as diagnostic. I've never seen one, but I would agree with that ID. What else were you thinking of? I've seen Rufous-Collared, Clay-colored, Mountain, and Black Robins - it's not any of those!

Well, I have no problem with Rufous-backed. I was hoping for something like Rufous but perhaps an exotic version since this was so far south.

Ah, I see! I don't think you were far enough suth/east (nor at a high enough elevation) for Rufous-Collared. Better luck next time!
