this guy was hanging out with a peewee today.. about twice as large.. I guess great crested I didn't get shots of its chest, but it didnt look yellow, but I only got a glimpse before it took off.. so just checking

Agree, Great Crested. The yellow is only on the belly, so you wouldn't expect to see it. What you can see here is a long bill with a pale base to the lower mandible, obvious white edges to the tertials, and rufous inner webs on the tail feathers.
