I know it's some sort of flycatcher or warbler but not sure which one.

Seen yesterday on Catalina Island (off coast of Southern CA).

I would say Pacific Slope: looks pretty white around the neck, definite eye-ring and most likely by range.

I agree that Pacific-slope is the most likely by range, but I'd say he's pretty worn. Pacific-slopes should have a yellowish throat.

Wow, really? Thanks - That would be a new lifer for me - anyone else have any input to make sure?

Bumping this back up to see if anyone else can confirm Pacific Slope Flycatcher, as this would be a new lifer. I read up on birds found on Catalina Island, and it didn't mention this species but did mention Hutton's Vireo, which this bird looks like too. here is another pic of same bird although not as clear.

I would agree with Pacific-slope. Pacific-slope Flycatchers on the Channel Islands aren't as bright yellow on the throat and belly as on the mainland.

Thanks, Eripma - I'll consider it unanimous then!

Thanks Liam - I haven't been birding much in recent months but plan to again soon, and I am already planning a trip to Maine next summer to see the Atlantic Puffins and other cool seabirds!!
