It's normally so difficult to get a good look at them, let alone have them hold still long enough to get the camera out, that I feel quite fortunate to have run into this fellow last weekend:

Very nice shots! Yep, you're blessed to have such an abundance of wildlife to photograph up there, not to mention scenery.

colorado has tradeing programs with a number of states and several other countrys. over the last decade we have traded for several hundred lynx from Alaska and Canada. so we have went from extinct to a bunch of breeding pairs mostly in the wilderness and deep forests but they roan around and several have been photographed visiting Durango. there were even a few spotted or tracked by radio heading back to Alaska and Canada. i have been lucky to see several around two mountain resevoirs not too far from here and they are a site to see.

would love to get some shots of wildcats of any kind.. I think we have only bobcats here, but I have never seen one.. nice captures
