These photos were both taken in July.

This first one was taken in my backyard in Central New Jersey. The bird I cannot identify is the one with the yellow throat.

This bird was found in Atlantic City, New Jersey. I want to confirm that it is a Ring-billed Gull.

Thanks in advance!

House Sparrows, and Mourning Doves in the first one.

Agree with Ring-billed Gull. Great shot BTW.

::Edit:: Didn't notice the cowbird in the first shot! Agree with it being a cowbird.

The bird you are referring to in the first photo is a female Brown-headed Cowbird. I agree with RB Gull on the second.

Mm, I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to disagree with the call of female BHCO. The female Cowbirds that I see do have some delicate streaking, yes, but they are mostly a solid bronze color. This bird has very distinct streaking. I want to say it's a female House Finch, because it doesn't have the clear eyestripe like the female House Sparrow in the bottom-left of the picture does.

The first pic shows 3 Mourning Doves, 2 House Sparrows and 1 female Brown-headed Cowbird. A house Finch would not have the dark bill or the light throat and would be slightly smaller than the House Sparrow, this bird is clearly larger.

New Year's Resolutions:
Get my lifelist to 300 (currently 293)
Finally get Mountain Quail and Vesper Sparrow
Top my previous single year best (2011-253) I'm at 193 as of 5/12.

Juvenile cowbirds have streaking. That's what I think the bird in question is.

You are right, of course! I stand corrected.
