This pretty little bird comes and fishes on the fallen tree in front of my house near Indianapolis, IN. All I can figure is that it's a Little Blue Heron, but it doesn't exactly seem to look like some of the ID pics. Can someone confirm or tell me what he is?

I may live in San Diego County, buy my home and heart will always be in Missouri.

Agreed. A Little Blue would be slimmer and wouldn't have the streaked white neck.

Thank you both! : ) It threw me off because when I looked at the Green Heron to ID, it had it's neck all drawn in and I thought. . . this guy has a real long neck. Now I see that they can do that, have both, or look like they have both a short neck and look like a long necker!
