It's been over a year since I've even seen a kite, until last week when one flew right over my head while I was trying to get yet another picture of a woodpecker. This morning while I was mowing, I saw a big shadow over me, and it turned out to be a kite. So I ran inside and got the camera and kept it with me while I was mowing. :D Pretty soon I saw the kite come back over, and it brought another one with it. They stayed around for quite awhile, but these are the best pics I could get. I think they are gorgeous birds.

I really like the first one, you can clearly see the patterning of the bird. I love watching kites fly. Fighter jet pilots have nothing on these guys!
