Garden County NE (panhandle) 8-4-12

It IS a sharp-tailed grouse, isn't it? Up on the power lines? I haven't seen birds of that size perch on the power lines before. Is it something that is normal and just new to me?

Looks more fitting than when I see wild turkeys attempt (and succeed, kind of) the same feat!

Haha! That's pretty funny! I'd definitely do a double-take if I saw that! Pretty nice of the bird to sit right out there for you to see, though! Usually they're skulking in the grass, making it difficult for you to ID.
