There has been a family of Greater Roadrunners that comes around our house every year. I have had them within a few feet of me at times and for the most part, they seem to except me being around. I this shot I was sitting on my steps and one jumped up on the hedges that line our walkway. He was about six feet from me.

Actually, the more I look at this the more I am reminded of "the eye" look used by visual herding dogs especially Border Collies. Don't some squid who possess pigment they can control make quick flashing patterns that confuse and momentarily freeze their prey?

I don't know about squid, but I know cuttlefish do that.

Or at least go back to ACME Co. and design a plan "B". :)

Meep meep

Awesome pic, I love roadrunners and they aren't the easiest bird to get a picture of. Maybe because they are in the Hot-roddicus supersonicus family. ;) http://en.wikipedia....and_Road_Runner

Well, I think you are one rare bird in that aspect Jimbob. I still think a majority of youngsters and teens don't know Loony Tunes.

Hey now. Looney Tunes is the only show I will stop on Cartoon Network to watch. I could be entertained by it for hours on end.
But the new "Looney Tunes Show" just isn't the same.
