the flat forehead, lack of eye ring and summer worn appearance makes me think Willow Flycatcher. If so, this is a new bird for me. What do you think? Fern Ridge, Oregon.

The lack of eye-ring and long primary projection make me favor Western Wood-Pewee

According to Nat. Geo. the eye ring in on the Willow is usually absent by mid-summer. The primary projection doesn't look so long to me but that could be an "angle" thing. This bird was feeding a youngster 10 ft. up in a tree by a lake, if that info helps any.

It has the giss of a pewee to me
Most recent new birds; White-throated Sparrow, Canada Warbler, Tropical Kingbird.

Yeah, judging the projection can be subjective, so it is hard to be definitive on that.

Did you hear it vocalize?
