Hawk ID please

Trying to verify my fist look at an Adult Cooper's Hawk. The young ones buzz the yard everyday, but this is my first adult if I am correct. Thanks! Taken in GA today.

Agree with Cooper's for all the reasons above, plus the placement of the eyes (closer to the bill rather than centered on the head, giving it a "sinister" look).

LOL! I was going to include that too, but "eye close to bill" just didn't sound right. Your explanation is way better.

Yes, adult. It looks smallish to me, which would suggest male. Not saying that is a sure thing, of course.
