Taken today at the Jones Beach Coast Guard Station. (Range 1/2 mile)

Wow, didn't know they had gotten that far north!! I remember seeing some of the first ones in Delaware, in the early 80s.

Based on the number of birders that came to see them, yes! Actually, the Lark Sparrow and the Brown Pelican are not common. They have been recorded on 60 and 33 checklists, respectively, on Ebird which probably covers the past 40 years. I don't know how many of those checklists reflect sightings of the same bird.
