I took this picture a few days ago, and, I'm almost afraid to ask for input on it. It's a lousy picture and that 'thing' flew away seconds after I took it. I had to take it through a patio door to make sure I didn't miss it. I sware to you it flew away, so, I am assuming it was a bird. It was just as you see it...white, crazy feathers with a slight ting of red on the body. For sizing purposes, that rock in the forground is approx. 5" high and 7" wide. I have not seen it since. This pic has had no adjustments made to it, no photoshop, nothing! Anyone have any ideas?? My husband thinks it may have been someone's parrot that escaped. The only on-line comment I have had is "a freaked out female Northern Cardinal".

You can't un-see something like that. :o

I'm just barely over seeing the bald cardinals which were posted a week or so ago... and now this? And another cardinal to boot. Are they more susceptible to feathers-gone-wild (or just gone) than other birds? I've seen cardinals and while a couple looked sketchy none of them looked like that. Stress can do that?

I believe those bald heads are caused by a mite infestation, don't remember the scientific name...
