House Finch?

I finally got a picture of this shy fellow at my feeder. I believe he is a house finch... however the other pictures I've seen seem to have more prominent red. Does the amount of red vary from bird to bird or by season?

Yes, he's a young male, so not all his color has grown in yet.

Agreed. The color on these guys can vary quite dramatically (some are even yellow!)
