What kind of duck is this

I took this picture with my girlfriend in Bayonne New Jersey,,,Is it a mix...young or what

It's a domestic of some sort.

definately not a mallard....maybe a ruffus or canvas back...the blotch head pattern throws me off...any ideas

This is a domestic duck and likely a Mallard. Nearly all domestic breeds of duck come from wild Mallards originally.

Looks like part Pekin and part Chocolate something or other, making it Moose Tracks. :P

In bayonne it could be a mallard/dioxin zombie mutant cross
