I zeroed in on this beautiful female pileated woodpecker through the windshield of the car today and completely missed the big hawk on the same wire. Didn't see it until I uploaded the photo. It blew me away. The pileated is of course totally identifiable, but what kind of hawk?

I agree with red-shouldered and cool pic!! I've never seen a pileated on a wire!
